The drop shoulder gives the dress a looser fit which is key to maintaining the sun protective integrity of the fabric and allows for good air-flow to keep you cool.
The length is designed to hit around the knee.
The sleeves are longer than your standard t-shirt to provide optimal coverage to those upper arms, but the fabric rolls beautifully, so adjust as you see fit.
